I have an Delco electric motor I want to repair/restore. The motor was used to run a well pump in a old barn. The first step is to ID what I'm working with. The ID tag is there but somewhat corroded and hard to read. I don't want to use the wrong method and ruin the ID tag. Any tips on cleaning the ID tag so I can move forward on this? :headscrat

Thanks.

I would start with something mild on a small place, like purple power and water, soap and water, carb cleaner, I have used a little lava soap on a rag before. di you know what type of pump it was on you may be able to find out more about it from there.

I see you are north of dover, I am north of morrilton
