My dad built a cement block garage behind the family farm in 1961. It had a nice service pit. A beam with a trolley and chain falls. Equipped w a type 30 ingersoll compressor. Fairly nice setup for our little area back then. It got cluttered and run down once i bought a commercial garage then built a big hangar at my little grass strip/seaplane base. Occasionally dad and i would discuss cleaning his old shop and making it workable again. It was a promise i never kept.He drowned a few years ago. Recently i started to restore It and keep my promise. Late but I hope he somehow would approve.

-That's an awful way to go, my condolences for the loss to you and your family.

-Better late than never, I'm sure he'd approve. Photos when you feel like it. Good luck.

I'm certain he'll be thrilled. I restored the '58 F-100 shop truck that belonged to the Esso station in my avatar. I can feel my dad smiling every time I'm near it. I can't wait to see what treasures you find as you clean it out.

For inspiration, you might want to check out the "Restored 1930's Auto Shop."

I never finish projects on time. Promised my 7 year-old son I'd build him a hot rod toy wheelbarrow. I finished it when he was 30ish. I promised my daughter she could have my custom F-150 when she graduated high school. She got it 2 years after she got her bachelor's degree. I kept my word. I'm trying to do better, but I'm still good for my word. The Stance.jpg

So keep at it. Following to see how you honor your Dad's memory. Good luck.
