After all the work I have done in the garage its time to restore the garage, its been over 20 years since it was painted so the other day I took the pressure washer to it and got all the loose paint off. Yesterday I got the DA out and started to sand it and recaulk the windows, probably spend a week getting it ready for paint and will use the paint that also has the primer inside it so I will only have to paint it one time. I have been putting it off for over 10 years so it will get painted this year.

Siding? I need the opposite. I have attached garage with aluminum siding and the house is natural cedar siding. I want cedar for the garage. That won't ever happen though. Lucky we found a color that you can't tell where the cedar stops and the aluminum starts.

I was working until I ran into some yellow jackets in the light and under the flashing so I washed and waxed the Harley and will wait until they will come back to the nest and when I get off the computer I will attack them. While I was sanding I was driving the nails back in and the yellow jackets came out.

That will clean up and transform into nice looking shop.

Gotta stress all the prep work is where you will get best results. Thus, scrape and sand, and scrape and sand some more, and caulk with good quality stuff like DAP. THEN, Lots and LOTS of primer paint, BEFORE you ever even think of putting on final color. Tint the primer to nearly match the final color and you'll likely get by with 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of final color.

Got the second coat on the side with the entry door and what was needed on the rear, also got the first coat on the other side and then ran out of paint so I am out of money and wont be able to get more paint until friday. I am also thinking about redoing the down spouts so water wont run down in the yard towards the house, going to run it out and down the other side and direct the water towards the driveway.
