I was just given 120sq ft of mirror faced slat board. Stuff came out of the midshipman store @ the US Naval Academy @ Annapolis. Unfortunately not the stuff that lots of garage/shop type accessories will work with but was wondering if anyone else had re-purposed this stuff in a shop. Plan is to use it on a dark wall in my wood shop and capitalize on the reflective properties of the mirrors.

The grooves/channels seem to be on 3 inch centers. Hopefully I can find more that just shelf brackets for it. The actual board seems to be crappy masonite but its 3/4's or so thick. Damn flimsy to handle but once bolted to the block wall should be ok.

we put a lot of that stuff up in bed bath and beyond stores, make sure you follow a screw pattern to hold the weight of what ever you hang

get on ebay you can order hooks, baskets, all kinds stuff relatively cheap. I had slatwall around my garage permiter for 10 years. Back then i just ordered black hooks, tons of baskets, etc off ebay...wasn't too much.

On block put 1 by sleepers then screw the board into that so you limit the number of holes you're drilling. Doesn't take much to hold it..i had mine up with drywall screws into the sleepers for 10 years (was out of screws at the time) and hung most of the garage off of them.

My whole shop is done in slatwall. I love it. More pics in my signature.

You can do some cool stuff with the mirror stuff. I have no idea what you would cut it with?
