I went to a local home show this weekend and ran across these blocks for building retaining walls. I think it looks great. They had a picture book there showing a lot of residential installations. I figured a few people might be interested in them for their builds. There's a lot of photos on the webpage http://www.redi-rock.com/. Pretty costly though; about $75 per block for the bottom block. The "natural rock" driveway pavers look great too. Probably way out of my price range...

I'm doubtful you're going to see too many of those walls in residential applications. The blocks weigh over 1 ton a piece. At four feet long and eighteen inches high per block you would need some heavy equipment to move it around. Leveling it would be very difficult as well. I installed a wall myself and the blocks weighed 80 lbs a piece and were 16" long and 8" high... it was really hard work.

those are really cool blocks. I have sent an email to them. I have a pond swim area that is 100' x 6' that I have been looking for a cool way to wall.

the local Prison inmates here in my town makes some blocks like that but only bigger. I had thought of getting some for a retaining wall.

Those types of blocks are usually made from the extra cement that the trucks bring back, they have the forms set up and just dump the extra crete in the forms.
