I've got a Snap-on 42 piece and a Craftsman 40-piece Rethreading Kits

They're obviously the same manufacturer and each of them is missing pieces - 12 x 1.5mm, 12 x 1.25mm and 7/16"NF dies and 3/8"x 16 tap. Where would you go to buy replacements?

The question - the kit has places in the blow-molded case for NC, NF and metric. In the metric side, there are marked places for three 12mm dies, one 10mm, 8mm and 6mm. Problem is, there is an 8mm die which only fits in the 10mm spot and a 10 mm which only fits in a 12mm spot. There's one die which seems too large to be a 6mm and two small to be an 8mm. Why are the Snap-on metric dies stamped with size but not those in the Craftsman? The metric dies in the Craftsman set are thinner and a different color as well.

Does your kit have the right pieces in the right places and are they marked?

The 42-piece Snap-on kit has an additional 10mm x1.25 tap and die but seems the same as the Craftsman otherwise.

all my craftsman 48pc kit are stamped what size it is, my old Mac 48pc kit was stamped the same but stamped USA also. Never had the smaller kits. I did order a replacement die threw mac maybe a year ago to replace one I lost, it was not stamped and the coating was a different shade then the older ones. I think lang stopped stamping the smaller dies at some point and changed the coating used. The replacement die from mac was like 2-3 bucks each at the time, craftsman doesn't sell replacements they would just issue you a gift card for the whole set and tell you to order another one from the kiosk in the store. At least that's what has happened to me in the past on stuff they didn't stock on hand.

The newest craftsman set I got a few months back came with an insert stating lifetime warranty Sears doesn't know wtf there doing, some say no warranty yet the paper that came with mine says otherwise. I see woodstock just did a video on them today where he says no warranty lol. I guess it depends on what day it shipped.

Bumping this old thread - Are Lang/Kastar and Jawco the same corporate enity or production line/? Obviously the stuff looks alot alike, and people are saying its is the same with cman and snap-on, but who/what exactly is Jawco?

The reason I ask is the Jawco offers more complete sets that anyone else
