The guys that work for me had a custom bobble head made in my likeness as a retirement gift, which they presented at a party last Friday night.
It is a pretty accurate likeness, although the bobble head has a somewhat fuller head of hair, and it is not as gray as mine is.

I am thinking about making the bobble head Steevo my new avatar here on GJ, but if I do, I may substitute a tool (wrench?) for the fishing rod.

I need some feedback on this.
If I change my avatar should I use the full length pic of the bobble head, or just the head shot?
Or, keep my "classic" avatar?
Or, maybe your response is "who cares"?

I like the bobble head. If you like, I can make it into an animated .gif for you when I get home tonight.

I vote BubbleHead head shot. Cool retirement gift.

I made bubbleheads of each of my kid when they were younger. I found a picture of one of them.

Bobblehead, headshot. You don't want anyone to think the shirt painted on the bobble head is one you actually own/wear right? ;)

I hate when people change their avatars. I tend to recognize everyone by their avatar more than by their screen name.

They shouldve given you the bobblehead at the beginning of your career for all of the annoying bosses and stupid requests. Itd be a new spin on the classic "smile and nod until he goes away" bit.

That is actually a (poor) attempt at copying the Tommy Bahama shirt I was wearing in the picture they used. It doesn't do the shirt justice.

I say to see what an animated .gif of the bobble-head would look like and go with that if it looks good. Maybe the person who offered it will give it a shot.

Ok, here it is...

Since it's on topic now, someone mentioned your avatar a while back as funny or ironic or something. If you at this juncture, wanna explain, feel free.

I like stephenw's cartoon avatar style FWIW.

Leave it alone. Your avatar is who you are in this forum. I do pay attention to them and judge the poster accordingly. I do have one or two on my ignore list because of their avatar. I also get confused when people change.

Can't wait until I retire and things such as this become the most pressing issue of the day.....:lol_hitti:thumbup:

But seriously, I'd keep the old classic.

While the bobblehead avatar makes me chuckle, I'm not sure that I like it better than the classic Steevo. You do want you have to do Steevo and congrats on the retirement.

Congrats. on joining the retirement 'club'....been a member since Oct. of '10....love it. Keep the old avatar....I dislike 'stuff' jumping around when I'm trying to read....very distracting. And, as always, just my opinion.

The clothes on the bobblehead make you look like Ward Cleaver out teaching Wally and the Beav how to fish. :)

OK, now I understand your avatar. You always sounded a bit 'more mature' than what your avatar implied......

It's still a way-cool shot, though. Who says you have to keep the same one all the time. I change mine up once in a while.

I have to say, when I read your thread about tool box built ins , garage builds, I was like that dude doesn't match his avatar. The whole retirement thing made me realize there must be a story to the avatar. I like the bobble head , and congrats on retirement!

Keep the classic, less Jim Morrison. He really pissed me off when he killed himself. This may come as a surprise, but when you retire you are still the same old Steevo. Carry on! Classic Steevo, all the way!
