They have that same Goodyear one over at Northern Tools, if you have one near you and want to see it in person first. I've never used one, but it looks well made and looks to be the top of the line in-store stocked hoses at Northern.

That Goodyear reel is a good quality reel for non-industrial use.
Much better quality that the HF unit, but lesser quality than a Lincoln or Reelcraft, which sell for three times as much.

I have the Griot's reel and it's served very well for many years. The first one I got leaked air a little at the connector. They replaced it after 5 years with no hassle.

Our new shop has retractable hose reels made by Graco. They are heavy duty units.

Ensure you pull the hose off straight, pulling off at an angle can bend the bracket and not allow the catch to engage.

I am not crazy about them to be honest, so far (6 months) there have been no major issues but I find myself pulling off half the reel and then going back to grab it again, once you are more than half way out it gets hard to hear the ratchet mechanism.

One advantage it that there is more hose on the reel (about 75 feet versus 50), also hose diameter is 1/2".

You might want to check out reels at Zoro, they're running a 25% off sale with free shipping right now. You can get a 3/8x50' Reelcraft for $162 on sale, and it's made in the USA.

We've had everything from HF to Cox Reels. To be honest, for the price the HF reels do a darn good job in our plant.
