I found mine at Canadian Tire. you should be able to find an in-expensive model locally.

Mine can be seen here:

I also have a retractable trouble light hanging from the ceiling (sorry, no picture of it).

Costco, is selling a Snap-On one right now, along with a vacuum cleaner. Give it a look over and it might fit the bill.

Reelcraft makes a decent cord reel. I have a couple of them in my shop for about 10 years. They still work like new. Be sure to get a cord reel with adequate gauge wire.

I ended up picking one up from Home Depot (Bayco 30' I believe). It's not the best, but I just needed something small that wasn't going to handle a ton of juice. My only regret is I wish it were longer. Ideally for me a 50 footer would be nice, and Craftsman has one in that range.

I've had a low cost craftsman for many years that has worked great, still retracting good. Never an problems other than its only 30ft and it is never quite long enough I wish it was a 50ft.

And it's 16/2 I would like to find a 12/2 50ft reel for a decent price someday.

I have the Craftsman Professional one and am not impressed with it. I have to constantly fuss with it to get it to retract all the way up. It'll go about 3/4 way in and stop, in which I have to tug it 5 or 6 times (retracting in 6" steps) to get it fully retracted......gets pretty annoying.

I don't want to kick a hornet's nest, but Harbor Freight has a pretty good one.

Three taps, 40 feet and 12/3 -- it's on sale for $60.

I have a retractable drop light in the center of my garage. It has a plug in receptacle built in. 50 foot long. Sometimes I need a light, sometimes an outlet, but I've been using the **** out of it for 20+ years. I believe I got it off the Matco truck way back when.

I have a retractable trouble light from Harbor Freight that's only adequate...it's difficult to reel the cord in, especially in cold weather - it's kind of like pushing a stiff rope.

Yes Sir it was, along with the mini vacuum cleaner they had on display. I just searched the Costco site, it appears this may only be a instore thing. They also have a Snap-On tool set with flash light on the shelf.

+1, Bought mine about 12 years ago and it has never failed me yet, I just wish it were longer.

It is currently $27.99 at sears.com http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_...s&psid=FROOGLE01&sid=IAx20090815x000001&aff=Y

I have a friend who just bought a plastic craftsman one and when I tried to retract it i literally told him to throw it in the trash.

A second reference to HF may REALLY get tongues wagging but there's this one too:

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=66832

I have a chrome one very similar to this one that my Dad bought from Sears at LEAST 40 years ago. It still works fine.

I have the HF one Im happy with it but it does have its flaws. The cord gets stiff when it is cold so its hard to get the chord to retract. But for the price I cant complain and Im going buy another after I get my lift.

Thats a damn nice stereo rack there.

Why thank you. I built it to match the tire rack that I made out of 1" black pipe. I had an bunch of 1/2" fittings so I got off pretty cheap. $15 or so in it I think.

The EQ has since found it's way into the dumpster. It actually looks better now with just the integrated amp and disc changer.

I've got the Bayco 14ga 50' reel, 3-outlet.

Had it for about a year and had no problems with it. Retracts smoothly, remains flexible.

The garage is insulated & attached, but it has gotten down to 40°F inside during the recent cold spell.
