retractable hose and electric reels

Looking into setting up air and electric drops into one of my garage bays. Ideally I would like to have a drop for both sides of the bay but only have a $300.00 total budget for all of the reels. Does anyone have experience w/ any of the drops in the links below? Any I should get/avoid? If you had a $300.00 budget which would you get (ofcoarse you don't have to spend it all HA!). Keep in mind this is for a hobbiest mechanic not a professional shop. Thanks!

Does anyone know of a combination reel setup that doesn't cost $500+ per? (ie Cox)

For electric Id say get the craftsman professional. Its liek 40$, not the REALLY expensive one, but the black on with the metal case. Ive been using it for a few years now. I use bayco's at work and they hold up fine too.

For reels, Cox reels makes a very high quality product, My friend has one in his garage and a few at his shop. At work, we use traditional hoses, but we have reels for oil. Ill check to see what kind it is tommorow (if I can see it), but we abuse the hell out of it. It gets used ALOT.

You can try www.Northerntool.com I have been using theirs for 1 yr. without any complaints. It is not a complicated device. I will say their hose that came with the unit sucked. I installed a Gates rubber hose....russ

I second the recommendation to buy a cheaper unit, and replace the hose when it starts cracking.

I've got an air hose reel from harbor freight, and the hose began cracking at the ends within a month.

I use the Craftsman electric reels paired up in several locations - the black one carries a fluorescent worklight, and the red one carries a multi-tap extension cord (keeps cords off the floor).

for air or water, look up Reelcraft. It may blow your budget, but they are great.

I really like Graco hose reals but they are about $400 for one with 50' of 1/2" hose. I don't have one but use them at work.
