I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with mailing broken tools back to Mac, we have no Mac rep. any longer, so I am going to have to try this, thank you.

An alternate reality in a parallel universe.
Good luck, from what I've read here and elsewhere the probability of receiving a Made in the USA replacement tool is pretty small. There are more than a few members here who've contacted MAC customer service and arranged for warranty exchange.

I hear alot of Mac bashing on here.I have had better response to my my tool service issues than what I'm hearing on here. I have sent tools in twice in the last couple of months and recieved USA tools back(Bol1214wrench and VR17k ratchet). I have also had some Taiwan tools(Torx drivers)come back. I wish Mac still made everything here but I still like their products. I have had good luck sending tools back they are quick and seem to care when I call them. For what its worth I have Snap On,Mac,and Matco in my tool box. I have favorites in each brand.

for me, snap on's dealer support seals the deal for me. i have friends who see the rep a few times a week. when a tool breaks i give it to my buddy, they hand it to the rep, and i see a new unit in under 2 weeks.

I sent my USA made ratchet back to MAC got a POS Taiwan ratchet back. Thats not a reflection on Taiwan tools because I have a few nice tools built in Taiwan. After much complaining I was able to exchange the Taiwan ratchet for the Facom head made in Italy model. It seems well made but I don't care for the ergonomics.

Wild: I've sent a few tools back to Mac over the last couple of years. Their service was excellent, as I received the replacement tools within (approx) two weeks.

I just sent them a 1/4" mr5 ratchet earlier this week. I'll find out soon what they do with it.

I'm currently a bit PO'd at them. I sent in a couple of wrenches and a bit driver. Got new wrenches (USA made), but my bit driver (PM84A) has been discontinued so instead of offering me the current model, they gave me $25 and change in credit which is effectively useless, since it won't cover replacing my @&*#ing screwdriver (not to mention the $5 I spent mailing this stuff in).

I plan to raise some more hell with them on Monday, and we'll see where that goes.

I sent a MR5K 1/4 ratchet and a XRS11FPA 3/8 ratchet (both USA), and received new ones (both USA) three weeks later. I'm well satisfied.

That's better than what I got from Snap-on. All they did was send back the discontinued socket driver I mailed in with a note telling me I was SOL.

Last time I mailed off broken tools to MAC was late last year. Got everything back within two weeks:thumbup:

I may have to try this too, I have a broken MAC ratchet and I have yet to find a MAC truck that is not in an auction around here. I found the ratchet, so I will get what I can. Will they send you just the guts?
