I'm a bit confused. I have a set of Gearwrench XL reversible X-beams sitting in my garage. Yet they have never existed. How's that possible?
Looks like they are discontinued, but Amazon has some remaining sets for sale.

I'm curious how do you store them? That's the main reason I never bought a set because I can't imagine what type of rail or whatnot would be needed to keep them organized in a toolbox drawer.

Tekton has six point wrenches 20% off. They’re supposed to be coming out with the sets soon discounted as well. They’re getting a new vendor to make them sometime within the year. I’m sure somebody will go off about the warranty but I have never had a problem with getting a warranty replacement. If they don’t have it in stock anymore, they will give you a credit especially if you bought it on their website or whatever replaced that tool. At least that has been my experience. Your mileage may vary.

I recently had a 7/16" reversible lock up and contacted Tekton. Apparently there is no warranty stock because they said I could have a credit instead. I couldn't find another offhand anywhere so I ordered a Williams to replace it. I needed another pliers rack anyway so it worked out.

For SAE the V-series is a good choice as it doesn't skip.
I did that for my SAE ratcheting wrenches. Couldn't be happier. Under $90 with no skips from 5/16-3/4 and they have that Facom offset on the open end. I'm debating about picking up the metric set because I like them that much. I think the V Series Facom rebrands are awesome wrenches and Craftsman/SBD fell asleep at the wheel not marketing them better. In fact, I think the only real duds of the V Series line-up are the ratchets because they cannot be serviced so if you get one of the rougher ones you can't do anything about the mechanism.

Towallmark did get back to me, but it took a day between replies--I assume this company is not anywhere close to US time.

I sent this message: "I just received the 12-piece wrench set and tested the ratcheting function. The 10mm wrench will not keep its direction--it skips from tighten to loosen when using the ratcheting function. Otherwise, the wrenches appear to be of acceptable quality. Can you ship me a replacement 10mm?"

In reply, Towallmark: ""Thanks for contacting us, I am so sorrry for this inconvenient, we don't sell this set seperately, how about we issue the refund,and you buy the 10mm in other place, here are the product asin you could research in amazon asin:B0002NYDJE, is it accetapble? Waiting for your reply"

I looked at that number, and it's a Gearwrench-brand 10mm. I wasn't sure if I understood correctly.

Me: "You're offering a full refund, so that I can then buy a replacement wrench of another brand--correct?"

Towallmark: "Thanks for your reply We issue the 17.66 dollars, and you buy the 10mm wrench of other brand product asin:B0002NYDJE, here are the information for the wrench, and you could check it in the attachment. Is it ok for you? Waiting for your reply"

Me: "Yes, that sounds fair. I will accept the partial refund of $17.66 and buy another wrench. Thank you."

So, I wish the company would have replaced the wrench. But I also understand that they deal in sets only and to break up a set probably represents a hassle, and the easiest way to try to address the situation is through a refund. And for the small amount of money represented here, I can't really complain about the experience.

That sounds like bad business to send a customer to a competitor. But what do I know.

Gotta keep in mind that they offered a refund of $17.66 so the customer could replace a single wrench from a 12 pc 8mm-19mm set set that only cost $36 total to start with ($39.99-10% coupon applied at checkout). That's just shy of half what the whole set cost.

I wil add that I've put most of the same set of wrenches to work on several jobs so far and they all seem to work just like my set of Gearwrenches. Very happy with the set so far.

How do you know they're a competitor and not simply another line at the same factory.
I don't. But they didn't tell him to buy a specific product. He could have bought any number of wrenches from any different company. They suggested one but it was his choice.

I love my Facom set. I forgot what I paid but they are nice.

Just bought a set last week of the Dutch version of Craigslist.

Totally new and paid just €113,- whereas the normal price is around €210,-.

There are also several sets of the 467BR and Flexhead listed. I went for the 467B because if you can only take one type into the apocalypse... Check Project Farm's wrench test on YouTube on his findings. You have to check his findings on the identical Mac Tools and not the Facom as thar one is the standard 440 without the v-shape in the open end.

Back when I was working for King Tony (KT Pro for you Yanks) I bought a very nice set ranging from 8 to 24mm. Sold after a fight with the French idiot running the European branch as replacements were never going to happen anymore...

I think I'll try the Towallmark wrenches since I have a set of Gearwrench but they're not flex head and I need some flex head metrics. It's like swivel sockets- you don't use them everyday, but you're screwed without them

HERE IS THE HOT SMOKIN' DEAL OF ALL TIME. I bought this for ****'s and giggles and it turns out that these seem to be to be Gearwrench quality or better at 1/5 the price. They are or course made in China but are well made and extremely comfortable as the beams are wide enough not to cut into your palms. I've only used them a couple of times but I'm super impressed for the money. For less than $35 for a complete set I think you'd be crazy not to try these out.

Crazy cheap price.
Think I'll try a set.
Thanks for the link.

The font on the one side of these looks just like the Gearwrench font!

I've mentioned this before and I'll mention it again. VERY FEW true manufacturers exist for any one specific product. At the most there are four or five reversible ratcheting combination wrench manufactures in the world. They just stamp different names on each brand. There is a distinct possibility that these are made in the same factory as Gearwrench.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking when I saw the font.

Does anyone have experiences with either the klutch brand or carlyle brand reversible ratchet wrenches? I'm looking to replace a set of kobalts I bought years ago. I like the six point design of the carlyle but the price is way high online. Can probably get it down talking with my napa's manager but don't know just how much he will come down. Any other budget ish reccomendations for reversible? I would just pick up a set of tekton or capri but it seems both are discontinued for updates.

Reversible ratcheting,15 offset,anti slip open end;

I beam handle for more touch.

Blue for metric,Red for SAE.(Is it neccessory to make this color for identify metric and sae?);

The blue and red color is " Nano Anhydrous Plating",which is environmental friendly than normal electroplate;

Chrome finish or satin?

What is your idea about this set?

Do they have an equivalent SAE set that is comprehensive like this metric set?
I have the TOPTUL metric set but want a SAE version.

Do you still like these wrenches? I was thinking of purchasing a set.

Mine have been going strong for over a year now. I work on diesel pickups pretty frequently (own 3) and everything else I find myself wrenching on seems to suffer from limited space and it’s a constant PITA to access fasteners.

I don’t turn wrenches at my full time job anymore though, so they get used once or twice a week instead of daily

On everyone's recommendation, I purchased the Towallmark metric set yesterday and received it today. At a first glance, they look really good. The ratchet mechanisms feel consistent, and the chrome is very smooth. I work on my own vehicles and do a lot of tinkering. I think they are going to be good. I too was looking for an SAE set and found Lowes had their Craftsman V Series on sale. It doesn’t have any skips, so I snatched it. For the price, I don’t think it can be beat. Both sets will probably last me the rest of my life.

I really like them. SAE is complete by 1/16 inch from 5/16 to 3/4 (from memory) so I might be writing. The metric set I think (again from memory) something like 9, 14, 15, and 18 I think.

I really like the container it is in.
