I have been thinking about buying a 4 post lift. I have read several threads on here about Bendpak and Direct Lift and several others. I just found out there is a Rotary dealer in next town onkly about 20 miles away. I called and he said he could sell a Revolution RFP9 installed with drip trays, jack tray and castors included for 3250. Does this sound like a decent price and also what about the quality of the revolution? I know it is sold as a Rotary lift but is itRotary quality or econo model sold under their name?

hi there....

it is a decent price....but then too in my opinion just check with kwiklift providing revolution lifts....at decent price...

here are some features of lift provided by kwiklift....you can search it online....

Store your vehicle up and out of the way to make more room in your shop or garage.
Raise your vehicle to a comfortable working height for maintenance and customization.
Power unit can be located on front or rear of lift.
110 or 220 V power unit.
Sheaves and latches enclosed in columns - fewer pinch points.
Larger sheave diameter than competition - longer cable life.
Designed to meet ANSI/ALI standards/North American Lift Standards.

Saw this in my October Hemmings. It has a whole bunch of useful info.

www.astudyinliftdesign.com

If you want to know about 4-posts go here. A little less than half way down the page they start in on the technical details:
http://www.astudyinliftdesign.com/four-post-lift-design.html

They also have a BendPak vs. Rotary two post head-to-head:
http://www.astudyinliftdesign.com/two-post-lift-comparison.html

Even though it's one company's perspective, there's a lot to take away and apply elsewhere. Hope it helps in your quest for the perfect lift.

Sounds like you've got some good brands lined up The original Rotary Revolution lift used to be made by Rotary domestic. I’m pretty sure their new models (RFP9 and others) are built in their offshore Hanmecson factory that was purchased a while back. The same factory that builds the Rotary Direct Lift line if I’m not mistaken. Compare the RFP9 to the Direct ProPark 9 models - the specs are pretty much identical and the same install manuals. Price sounds pretty decent if you need the casters. Look for ETL certification and all should be good.

I recently bought a motorcycle lift from Ranger - a Division of BendPak. There were some minor problems with it and I ended up getting the lift replaced with another one.

I have to give credit to BendPak Ranger customer service - they bent over backwards to make it right, and in the end, everything worked out great.

If your on the fence about what to buy, I would strongly consider any BendPak or Ranger product, just for their legendary customer service. Problems do happen, but they will make it right

I had just talked to the guy when I posted first and was shocked that he was competetive with the online dealers since he was local. I got a little excited but I have read some post since then comparing the revolution to direct lift pro park 9, seems like same lift. Derek Weaver sells The Propark 9 for 2595 with castors and jack tray and drip trays. I bought my motorcycle lift from them and they seem ok to deal with. I called for a price on shipping and it was only 285. 285 shipping plus 2595 is 2880, and since it is an outa state sale no tax. The 3250 plus tax would be 3477 making the local guy 600 high. Of course his price was installed. I guess I'll be scratching my head over this awhile longer.

I would only recommend a Rotary Lift... Think for one minute what the cost of injury and risk of getting under a car safe is worth... is it worth saving a few hundred dollars? If you go to any dealer or quality service shop in the USA or world you will see only one brand of lift ROTARY!
For the home garage enthusiast I recommend the Rotary RPF9 4-post lift, here is a link http://www.liftandlube.com/Rotary_Revolution_RFP9_p/rot rfp9.htm
We have tried to sell other brands, (the one whose initials are BP and GB) and ones made in china, pistons that pop or leak new and lifts that shake are what you will deal with the whole time! We no longer sell them they cost more money in repairs down the line and the whole time you are scared to go under them. Buy Rotary Buy once! Be confident and safe always!
We are the Rotary Revolution Dealer in Miami but i would recomend this lift for any one, anywhere.Trust your local provider if is a licienced distributor you will have no worries. If you buy one used, have a Rotary distributor install it for you and mabey redo the seals to be on the total safe side.

If you are at all handy...I'd suggest trying the installation myself. I did mine and I'm glad I did.

I appreciate RotaryLiftGuy's enthusiasm, and can only speak for my BendPak experience, but I would buy another one tomorrow. It also seems to me that he is forgetting that the Revolution lifts aren't made in the USA either.

My HD9 runs smoothly, lifts the Viper as easily as my Excursion.
