Hello, I have an older(from ~ 2000) Reznor FT45 Unit Heater in my garage.
It recently threw a code for a pressure switch. I jumped the pressure switch and found it to be faulty.
So, I know I need a new pressure switch to get me back up and running. My issue, the pressure switch I need has been discontinued. It uses Part # 164673. There is a replacement pressure switch(#196362) which is not the same. It has two ******* on it and mounts differently. Not a huge issue, I'm sure I can figure it out. But it's about $100.
My question is, is it worth getting a new pressure switch for this unit or just replace with a new unit? I have had no other issues with this unit heater, but I'm sure there have been design changes and other parts are likely to be discontinued as well. I have also read that Reznor heaters are not what they once were, and have their fair share of issues. I have a Mr. Heater in my other garage, and that thing has been performing perfectly for 4 winters, knock on wood. So, I would likely just go that route for a replacement.
I'm getting into this at the right time as winter is basically over in Central MN so I have some time to figure this out. I was just curious what the thoughts of GJ were.
