I put one in my shop. They are noisy, have huge vent stacks for the BTUs, and are a bit klunky, but they seem okay for a workshop. I converted mine to electronic ignition, so I wouldn’t have the pilot running all the time.

Made oct 1981. Since they been sitting for 41 years motor bearings are dried out and gas valves could be bad the rubber parts.

One man's junk is another's gold.

Twenty years ago I worked on a construction job and we tore out two Lenox shop heaters from the early 60's. So they were 40 years old at the time. A guy I worked with grabbed them both, took them home and got one to run swapping parts from the other and put it in his shop.

They are nice heaters. In my area they would sell for 300 to 500 each. I bought a nice used 60k model for my garage and was happy to have it.

I might pay $100 if i could use one, but anyone that pays $300+ for a "new" 40 year old heater is nuts!
