I have a Reznor SFT 60 that won't start. This started about a week ago when we had the cold weather (5 deg F). I replaced the thermostat but no help. I then read online that a guy heated the circuit board with a heat gun. I tried this and heating the board for about 10 seconds it starts & works fine. Next morning I go out and have to heat again to get it going. I keep the heat at about 50 when not in the garage.
Replacement boards are about $350-$400. Really don't want to put that much money in the furnace when I can get a new Hot Dawg for about $600.
I plan on removing the board and checking the solder connections on the back. I apply the heat to the area of the IC when I heat it up.
Anybody run into this problem in the past.
