Greetings,

I'm in the process of installing a Reznor UDAP 45 unit heater in my 2-car garage. I plan to use a Honeywell Pro 1000 heat-only, 2-wire t-stat.

Before I run the wire, will this t-stat work? It's NOT being powered by a 24 vac transformer...

I appreciate any input!!

Thank you,

--Rob

Does any one have any pics of wireing for an older Reznor Natural Gas Heater. We bought this house and the people decided to take the heater out the day of closing. We got them to leave it but they already took it down. Im not an electrician and I could sure use some help rewireing this thing. Reznor XL45-3. 2 wire fan, 2 wire thermostat, red yellow and black wires coming from the heater, Red and white from thermostat, Black and white coming from transformer, Blue wire and Brown wire from back of Transformer. I thank you in advance for any assistance.

Black and white wire should be line voltage side of the transformer. Blue and brown wire are probably the secondary or low voltage side of the transformer. 24 VAC comes from the transformer to the stat. A drop in temp closes a normally open switch in the stat sending 24 VAC to heating circuit in heater. The other side of heating circuit connects to the common side of the transformer. There should be a wiring diagram on the heater. Typically connecting the R terminal to the W terminal on the the heater makes the unit operate.
