I have purchased a Reznor UDAS separate combustion unit heater along with there " Aesthetic Concentric vent kit" part # CC14

I need to install Category III vent pipe, all the stainless steel vent pipes manufactures use a O-ring and gear clamp to hold the joins together,

how would I attach the Termination hood that is supplied in the reznor vent kit to the stainless steel pipe, there is no room for the gear clamp?? with the outer section being the intake area

Here is Reznors instructions but they state to fasten the termination hood with screws as you can see in there pictures they are using Snap lock Galvanized (category I) vent pipe, you can see the joint line on the vent pipe in there pictures

I wish I could help you out. I had the same unit at a former home and loved it. It never gave me any trouble.

I hung the unit and paid a local company to connect the gas I ran and exhaust to code.

Hopefully someone will come around and provide the answers you need.

Self taping sheet metal screws, seal the joints with high temp silicone.

I have the 30kbtu reznor with the non sealed combustion, it's a great heater. I ran cat3 vent out the wall too, but I'm sure mine was easier, I used a tankless hwt vent kit and positioned the heater to accommodate the short pieces of venting I had in the kit. Since you can't cut the vents due to the coupling mechanism.
