Hi, I am wrapping up a permitted installation of a Reznor UDX-75K natural gas unit heater.
The heater is hung (threaded rod, approximately 10" below the finished interior ceiling). Gas is plumbed, electrical is run. The last part to take care of is the venting.
Reznor specifies category III vent pipe.
The heater is to be horizontally vented.
My question is this - once the category III vent pipe has passed through the wall thimble, what is the clearance that is needed between the vent pipe and the house soffit?
The vent/termination cap will extend beyond the soffit itself, and the termination cap will not be covered by any structure.
Thanks in advance!
