Its a polyurea coating. With proper prep work it would stick. I'm curious as to why you would want to use it?...Not to mention the cost per sq foot would be pretty high.

Just ran across it in a Woodworkers mag. Wondered if anyone knew anything about it.

I'm way too hard on my floor to justify that kind of expense. All I know right now is the Rustoleum thats on the floor now has got to go.

My floor sees allot lawn mowers, 3wheelers, wifes car, lumber, occasionally oil, gas, brake fluid, cats, and after a few drinks, a pillow and blanket. Not as hard as a service center but it seems I'm always doing something to screw up my floor but then again, the Rustoleum is failing so that makes it look bad. Im in the avation industry so I know the abuse hanger floors go through and ultimately I'd like to put down a hanger grade floor but costs may prohibit me from doing that so I'm looking for the next best thing that I can do myself.

im not sure about rhinoliner (i prefer LineX myself) But my local LineX dealer gave me a quote of $10-$12 per sq. foot. That would include washing, grinding (if needed) and a sealer that can handle up to 7psi of hydro pressure.

I don't know about you buy 10 bucks a sq. foot is too much for me... I'd do tile waaaay before i go there. And the warranty is only for the product not for install (30 days for install i think) so if it starts bubbling in 5 months when the rains start up...to bad.....

Wow that's double what I charge and we warranty the product and install.

.....we warranty the product and install.

So does LINE-X (for their flooring product called Aspart-X). The price per square foot varies upon lots of variables such as total sqft, crack repairs, thickness, and so on. So, some floors may be $5.00/sqft and some could be $10.00/sqft. To say ANY floor is $5.00/sqft is not realistic.

Oh man, give rhino a break. He's just trying to sell product. I've been watching them as they have just jumped into the flooring stuff. An acquisition and off they go. I do wish them the best but I feel they will find it a little more difficult than they think. Not really set up for local technical support their product isn't the "cats eye". Hey, they are really hitting my area on house paint, maybe I need to watch out for flooring next??? Training??? I'm sure "ultimate" will chime in.

They are going to find out quickly that it isn't as easy as throwing out some money for radio adds to pull in a network of installers. If they are going for the DIY network, then they need to have a better package together. Been doing this stuff way too long and have seen way too many flash companies in and out. my 2 cents.

Yea, I know a few things about Rhino also. Their current president, Pierre Gagnon, who almost put Mitsubishi North America in bankruptcy before he went to Rhino, had Rhino in big financial trouble two years ago.

Rhino pulled their regional reps that supported their dealers. I personally knew one of them. Rhino is no longer innovative. They buy products from manufacturers and just put their name on the can. Instead of working through their dealer network, they are trying to sell their products to large scale contractors. That puts them in a whole new realm where they have to compete with the big boys like Carboline and PPG.

First, it's tough to know why they are charging that much...might be alot of repair work that you aren't mentioning or moisture issue. We have done floors up to $40 per sqft...it all depends on what we are starting with and what it's gonna take to get the proper finish specified.

Anyway, the "grinding if needed" throws up some huge red flags. Do yourself a favor and get a few competing estimates and compare apples to apples.

Also, post some current pics and maybe some of us can help you out or guide you a bit better. Good luck

Good answer garage guy. My reply was a little more abrasive than maybe it should have been. I could have found kinder words to state what I stated but I've been accused of that before. ..... Still working on that. gene

Actually I'm not on here to sell product. Honestly this forum isn't our demographic since it's mainly DIY based. I only joined to answer questions about Rhino's products since there wasn't anyone else that has.

house paint?

Not going to lie Rhino has a great products and thats about where it stops. It did take me a good while to find people who know the product and have the hands on knowledge to get us fixed up when we have a question.

Agreed. We grind every floor no matter what because I'm not going to warranty a product unless I know it has a good surface to bond to.

This was for my basement 30 x 20... The quote I got was for "dimabrush" - ing the floor. No moisture test preformed but if needed they have a sealer that would work.

I'm not saying rhino is good or bad...never tried it... but i would stand behind the statement that lineX is a great product for truck beds.. and if their floor coatings are anything like the bed coatings i'm sure the 10-12 price is worth it.

Rhino seems to have a DIY product now. I don't know if it is the same company or not since it says it is from Newage Products.

Here's the link:

Not much info on the site about it. Don't even know if it's a 100% epoxy.

Seems to be a fairly inexpensive product. $130 for approximately 300-325 sf at 8 mils.

It's the same company they just came out with it a few months back. I know very little about it. I'm not sure I would pay that much for it since you can buy it from Rhino directly for $79. http://buyrhino.com/diy-rhino-epoxy-floor-coating-kit.html

The Rhino kit is a water based two part epoxy. http://www.rhinolinings.com/newseve...s-new-do-it-yourself-garage-floor-coating-kit

The kit from buyrhino is a 1/2 gal of each part. The Costco kit is a 1 gal of each part. The Costco deal is better, plus it comes with a roller and frame.

More details on the costco kit: http://www.costco.com/Browse/Produc...244*49248*&whse=BC&topnav=&Browse=&lang=en-US

Costco must have a special deal with Rhino because I can not find the gallon kits in any of my Rhino stuff. The thing I find odd is the kit from Rhino cover 250sq. ft. and the Costco kit which contains twice as much only covers 300-325sq. ft. In both regards you would need to buy two kits to cover a 2 car garage.
