I have an old chicken coop barn type building. Low slope roof. About 10’ high in the front, about 6’ in the back. Long building. I need to cover it with something. I’m thinking 1x furing strips and cover with the the ribbed tin. It seems to be the most economical solution.
I have some ideas but looking for some input from anyone that has done something similar.
I’ve read about condensation behind the metal. Would I have to do something like 3/4 foam between the strips and house wrap over that? Then metal?

What you suggest is done all the time. Never seen anybody put insulation under it.

You will need to have a air gap between the metal and whatever you put underneath the wood firing strips. So it would be foam, roofing paper then 3/4 firing strips then metal.

I want To use the material Bert posted, but on the walls. The building I’m looking to do this to is like 30x200. I cleared the property behind it and didn’t realize it was as ugly as it is. This seems like the most cost effective way to clean it up. I will Have to repair sheathing before I do it.
So can it be mounted Right to the sheathing? Do I have to put anything between the metal and wood?

Like others said, you don't need insulation if there's no heat or AC in the building. If there is, one of the common ways to insulate with metal roofs is with bubble insulation (just search for it with Home Depot, etc.

We have a pole chicken house 40'X350' originally built in 62 torn down and moved here in mid 80's 2x4 (real rough sawn 2x4's) rafters 1 x 4 lath 1" Styrofoam insulation felt paper then tin ( real strong barn us made metal) it does leak now but it is 58 years old. today I would use roof membrane instead of felt paper it is thicker.
