My buddies got a Snap-on cabinet and chest that has Rick Mears and an Indy car on it. I think the model number is KR537 He also has a mid tier box and a roll cabinet underneath it.

How much is this box and whole setup worth and is it saught after?

Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tim

seems like that was one of the 1st "special edition" boxes SO made.

probably late 80's ?

date codes should be stamped on the back of the box under the model #

i (personally) wouldnt give more than $500 for the set in near perfect condition.
i have a 537 and a 637, for me they arent my fav boxes by any means.
they are fine for home use, but i dont care for the drawer layout for "working" boxes.

the mid boxes are kinda hard to find, and usually command a premium price.
i think when i bought mine in 94 or 95 it was $600+ . lotta cash for 3 drawers :wtf:

Box is not sought after AFAIK. That top looks rough and it looks like its been in a body shop and body dust is hard on slides and paint. If the other 2 boxes are in similar condition, and you want them and are looking for a project, $500 would be top money, $350 would be better. $200 would be you ****! Good luck with your decision.

I sell a fair amount of used boxes and very few special edition boxes command a premium, and some take value away and limit your market. And collectors want things in great shape.

The Chevy Bel Air box is one that brings a little extra money.

From what I see of the top box is worth about 100 dollars. Top is caved, rust at the bottom missing the logo and that peice of masonite that use to be on the right top. The Rick Mears drags the value down on a nice box but that one is rough enough it doesnt matter. If there are no keys 80 dollars.
