I've got a John Deere 2005 GX335 with a 42 inch snowblower, 48 inch mower deck, a John Deere wagon as well as a dry fertilizer spreader for $4K a couple of years ago. It had less than 400 hours on it. I have a long steep drive as well as as a steep yard with almost 2 acres to mow. It has plenty of power to move the snow although it is over the budget you indicated. There are older John Deere units that will be less expensive but they seem a little like Harley Davidson Motorcycles when you buy parts for them:( I am very happy with mine even if I spent more than I wanted to.

I have a 3 John deere 318's 1 for mowing,1 set up for blowing snow https://bestoutdooritems.com/the-best-lawn-tractor-for-snow-blowing/ and 1 with a loader. For the money, you will not find a better machine. Many my friends use Kawasaki, coz If a mower has a Kawasaki motor on it, it's built for the long haul. The name on the mower is not important because they all use the same transmissions and engines. What is important is the quality of the build and odds are if they spent the money to put a Kawi on it, it's built right.
