Okay, what kind of app is this, I don't see it in Google Play store

RideCache is a web application, which means that you access it directly from your web browser with no need to download or install anything from the app store. Just open your browser and go to ridecache.com to get started.

One you are logged in, you can easily add an icon to your home screen so RideCache will open with a single tap just like any other app. For the default Android browser you just tap "More" then "Add shortcut to Home screen". Other browsers have a similar function.

We hope you enjoy using RideCache!

Very cool. Wish I has something like this when I was building my vette. Would have been a great feature to show the new owner vs. a thumb drive full of pics.

Yes, a lot of people are using RideCache to show their vehicles to prospective buyers. Their RideCache essentially becomes the web page for their car. Once you are on your cars main RideCache page, you can simply copy the URL and email or text it to anyone who can then view any info you have designated as "Public".

We also can provide a vanity URL (for an annual fee) for those special cars that you want to have a prettier URL. For example, check out astrovette.ridecache.com, a car definitely worthy of its own webpage. The Tasks and Parts are all Private for this car, but look through the Papers and Events for some cool stuff!

Is this anything like Patina?

I can't speak specifically to Patina, but what we found with other car sites - and the reason we created RideCache - is that most are either covered with ads, are focused primarily on social and sharing or are trying to create a marketplace to buy/sell cars. We felt there was a need for a professionally developed software tool that was focused on helping individuals organize, manage and preserve all of the work and information in and around their cars.

One of the best ways to see the difference is to look at what you see when you log in on most other car sites - what you usually see is other peoples cars. On RideCache - you see your own cars. You can share some things if you choose (and with very fine grain privacy control), but that is not the focus - and there are no "likes" and no comments. Over a third of our customers choose not to share anything - all of their cars, projects, parts and papers are kept fully private. RideCache is simply the tool they use to organize everything about their vehicles.

You can think of RideCache as the tool that allows you to manage all of your to-do and wish lists and capture all the detail behind your car projects or build threads - including details you may not want to share with others. You may choose to share some of that detail to other social oriented sites, but all the detail is always preserved on RideCache.

I hope that helps. We would love to have you try RideCache.

Hey guys, if you liked the car featured in the video at the top of this post, here is another sweet '32 roadster on RideCache that you might enjoy seeing. This is John Joyoprayitno's recently completed dream roadster. John did the voiceover on the video of the purple '32 featured by Ryan at the top of this post and he gave me permission to post a link to the RideCache for his car. You can check out the car and some of the cool parts John used here: https://ridecache.com/#/collections/284/vehicles/488
