Just found your forum on Google. I’m an electrician in Durham NC.
I recently bought several of the Ridgid rolling & stackable units. Got the large rolling box, smaller box & open pro box. I like them but I’m still shuffling thins around to find best arrangement.
I like that they stack securely & have a small footprint in a crowded truck. Wheels are sturdy & smooth. I don’t like that the largest box has no tray and the smaller one only has s half size tray. Currently, I have my sockets, KO cutters, hole saw set, etc in larger one & my battery tools in smaller one. I use the pro box to carry my Husky carry tray. Weakness too, that open bid doesn’t protect from rain.
I’ve contacted Ridgid to see if they could produce after market trays, and/or make trays for their flat box to make it more useful. Aldo to see if they could provide s handle extension. Higher would help.
I looked a lot before buying these and have seen poor trays in lots of units.
I still have part of a rolling Craftsman box I bought about 1997. It had 2 large stacking trays. Deep bottom one good for hammers, etc. Shallower top one with lots of sections for small tools. It was a good setup. Box was deep enough for lots of bulky items. Top broke several years ago, then top tray broke. I went for another one but Sears had quit selling it. I’ve always had that jinx; find something so like & they quit making it.
