My sister works at Home Depot and tells me lots of stories of how people return things broken or after they used them for a project. It was really funny when she bought a new outdoor water spigot at HD for her home and it was leaking all over---I checked it out for her and the guts were used and had missing parts. Apparently it was a recycled return that was put back on the shelf!
