Put a new boiler in for a customer and later in the afternoon he came home with a pipe threader and asked if I could use it. I said yes if he could come up with a price. Next day it's sitting in front of my shop. so I bring it inside and I notice the back centering head is missing. So I send him a text asking him to try and locate it. Well it seems to be lost. zoro has it for 288.00 bucks.

Question is there such a thing as a junk yard for threaders. there are lots of new parts available for these but not the motors. I would hate to buy the new centering head then have the motor burn out on the first thread.

I've been using 300s for a long time, never burned out a motor, they are a work horse of the industry. The pedal and power cord get replaced the most, aside from the dies and cutter wheel. Try eBay, always parts available, company's like steel dragon make parts that fit but I would stick with ridgid, did it come with die head, pipe cutter and reamer?

No dies or other tools but I have plenty as I already have a machine that is very old and I have never seen another one it only has one jaw and a sort of spanner wrench with 3 prongs for tightening it.

must be made by the chicoms but I think i'll try one
thanks

We've got a couple 300's at the shop, and honestly the Chinese couldn't make a worse version of that centering chuck than the one Ridgid put on them from the factory.
