I am needing a new(better) table saw. Not immediately, but soon. I have the chance to pick the bosch up @ menards on sale for $499 plus 11% back in a rebate to be used @their store. The Ridgid goes on sale for $299, but I dont know when it will. I am a novice at best woodworker. I want to be able to build a few cabinets with them coming out nice. Is the extra cost of the Bosch worth it? Will the Ridgid go on sale with in the next month or so, or should I ****** up the Bosch.

I don't have experience with either saw, but they both seem to have relatively decent ratings, so I'm sure you couldn't go wrong either way.

I have the Dewalt DWE7480, which has about the same specs as those saws, and I'm really happy with it. Lots of power, very accurate, the fence is very stable and rock solid, etc. Maybe I'm biased but that would be my choice.

The DeWalt is also a little cheaper at regular price. That said you have to buy the folding stand separate, whereas the others look like they come with the stand. So buying the stand you'd probably be into it for similar money.

I was lucky enough to buy my ridgid 3650 new and on sale for 399 12 years ago. I also have a DeWalt 745 table saw. If I were making cabinets at home, I would want a saw with a cast iron top and 30 inch minimum rip capacity. I would suggest looking for a bigger used saw. The small portable table saws are really geared towards framing lumber and flooring. The "contractor" or hybrid saws are usually available with mobile bases and 120v motors.

Most importantly, get a decent blade.

FWIW, I would suggest looking into companies that make cabinet parts to your spec. There are a bunch out there.

I have made cabinets in my garage with my ridgid saw but now I work in a professional cabinet shop with a CNC router and a Martin sliding saw with a 10' bed. It's a lot more fun using those toys than my ridgid saw at home, but they all get the job done.

I have the Ridgid 4512, essentially the same as the 4513. I bought it with a 20% HF coupon. If your HD will accept one that may be your best bet. I hven't seen that $299 price point in a long time, maybe not since the 4513 was introduced.

Keep in mind a few things; The 4512 can't do an 8" dado stack, might be a significant thing for cabinetry, You need to make sure you get as little vibration as possible on the table, finding a good spot on the floor and leveling the feet to that spot and then marking the floor is what I did to help. The fence stays pretty square and parallel to the blade but you still want to check it every few cuts as it can and will move if you hit a knot or bump it . Accessories for the 4512 should fit it as a whole, one of the things I found is the zero clearance inserts available are too expensive for how poorly they fit it, might want to make a few out of ply for yourself. Buy a good blade, the one it comes with is only ok for general stuff, framing, not what you need for cabinetry. You may find the built in tape measure is off slightly as I think it measures from the blade center, you will want to make sure you measure from the edge of the carbide tooth to the fence.

I have been waiting for the dewalt 7491rs saw to go on sale. Might be something you are interested in. Reviews were a little better on it then the ridgid.
