Finally got my Ridgid 500 pipe machine running again, but am curious which oil to use? Been using dark, but only squirting it onto the pipe when threading. I want to get the auto oilier working, if it isn't, but I am curious is dark is the way to go or not......

Will be threading black pipe......probably 1.25" largest

Any preference: Light or Dark?
Any favorite company: Oatey, Ridgid, Hercules, Nu Cut, Gasoila, Mobil, etc?

I always used dark, pretty sure dark has more sulfur in it which acts as a lubricant under pressure.

Any thread cutting oil will work fine. Some don't behave well with stainless but just about anything will work with plain black pipe.
