Gents,

I have two 1.5 ah batteries purchased in 2012, that aren't showing defective on the charger but just don't hold much of a charge. I also have two 3.0 ah batteries from 2015, one is defective and the other doesn't hold much of a charge.

I've not used the battery swap policy yet but was wondering if I have a chance at replacement due to age.

They've been registered properly and show up as LSA in my RidgidTools.com account.

I just contacted them about a battery today. It would show as charging when I first put it on the charger - but ten minutes or so later would flash a red light. Even putting it on and off a bunch of times it would never put the battery above one bar.

No problems - they're sending me a new one.

Register with LSA (new or replacements) and the process is very simple with a single phone call. They don’t want the dead batteries back. Ridgid replaced 8 dead NiCad batteries and sent lithium replacements. Got a Ridgid>M18 adapter to make full use of these Ridgid batteries in other tools. 8139EBC4-184A-4EC7-AF06-62AB2C87D83D.jpeg

There is a new Self-Service Ridgid battery portal making LSA for batteries super simple. image_25207.png

I have a couple of 1.5s that are failing after many, many years of hard service. Any thoughts on what to do with them if they aren’t under LSA? Buy new and recycle the old ones?

Most of mine are covered but the first Ridgid 18v tool I got was an impact that was reconditioned. It was on the hot deals thread and got me started on the switch from nicad Dewalt to Ridgid.

Unfortunately the unregistered Ridgid batteries won't qualify for LSA beyond the basic 3-year warranty. HD has 2-pack 4 Ah Li batteries for $99. Go to the Ridgid DASHBOARD to confirm your Ridgid batteries are listed for LSA. When Ridgid replaced my dead 18V NiCad/lithium batteries they did not want the old ones and shipped the new lithium replacements which must be re-registered for LSA. My shipment of battery adapters to adapt 18V Ridgid batteries to Makita and Milwaukee will arrive today as Ridgid will be my ultimate power source moving forward.
