I brought my Ridgid R8611503 drill to the local repair center the motor was smoking. They put in a new motor & control board but they must have got some wiring crossed. When you flip the switch to go forward it runs backwards and when you flip it to go backwards it goes forwards. I probably just keep it at work and when somebody asked me if they can borrow my drill I will give them that one and see if they notice.

Dummy me didn't notice it until I put a drill bit in it.

That's pretty funny.... not funny that it happened to you though. Can you take it back? If the service center wasn't local I'd take it apart to see if it's an easy fix.

I have a little USB rechargeable Skil screwdriver that has a reversed fwd/rev switch. It bugs the hell out of me but I like the screwdriver.

It's not that big of a deal to fix. I just think it's funny they got me. It's an older brushed hammer drill I have at work so I'll probably just leave it like it is. I have a M12 one there that just had the chuck and the gearbox replaced at the end of last year or so. Then I have a newer brushless version of the Ridgid one. The service center is pretty much across the street where I work. I drop off a lot of work tools there. Never had any problems. Only dropped off two personal tools there this and the M12 hammer drill.
