wish they would let you pick the free tool you want and not offer **** a person might not need.

I assume you are talking about the two free tool offer? I think you can choose your two tools if you do it in store.

Is this also applicable to other brands as well "in-store" (i.e. Ryobi, Milwaukee, Dewalt, etc)?Options online are very limited

If you have a HD card they just sent 10% coupons out. They work too.

edit: actually they expire 10/31 so I guess they sent them a few weeks ago. My code was 9TCD3H6V maybe that will help someone.

So... Already have some Milwaukee M12 tools.... Are the Rigid 18v worth adding?

I think you will be happier sticking with Milwaukee, but the Ridgid aren't bad. I use Milwaukee 12/18v & Ryobi. It depends what 12v tools you have, and what you would be getting in 18v. Not that the tools don't vastly vary, they are both under the same parent company, TTI. I don't know of one Ridgid tool that I would consider superior to Milwaukee. I am interested in their new 18v multi head tool rhough. Remember to register your 'lifetime service agreement,' if you do go Ridgid.

I have some ridgid tools and I have overall been satisfied. They are not as nice as Milwaukee but they were substantially cheaper. The batteries for life was a huge draw to me, even with the mixed reviews of the LSA program.

Be careful of which tools you buy (from any brand), especially during holiday season. It seems like most companies (dewalt, milwaukee, makita, ridgid, etc) have low end and high end models for each tool type. Ridgid seems to have less of it but it seems like they have low end drills and impacts.

I don't know of one Ridgid tool that I would consider superior to Milwaukee.

There are some Ridgid high end tools that are better than some of low end tools that Milwaukee sells. If you compare Milwaukee's best vs Ridgid's best, I would agree with your statement
