Ridgid Gen5X tools

I have a real interest in this line because it seems affordable but the circular saw seems to have a good amount of power compared to the others that are on the market.

Has anyone found these at their home depot?

All I have seen this this video showing it cutting OSB.

I had a gen 3 set of 4 tools. It cured me of trying Ridgid again, 4 of 4 switches went bad, bad cold weather performance a trait shared with lithium-ion technology but Milwaukee and Makita batteries are Far superior in this regard. Then there is the issue of the line, Milwaukee and Makita both offer MANY other tools that also use their batteries. For that matter Black and Decker Yellow (Dewalt) does also. For me if a line doesn't include an oscillator tool, not interested. My two cents, I use my tools every day.

If you go Ridgid, make sure to register for the lifetime service agreement that covers the tool/battery. Also check to see if you have a local service center. Ridgid gen5 just got released for reviews (real tool/tools in action) so it should arrive in stores soon. Ridgid has made improvements to the lithium battery and the line is somewhat limited but they got the important ones

I managed to get hold of the Gen 5 hammer drill, impact and reciprocating saw but not the circular saw and I love all three of them. The recip. is a an absolute beast. Add in the fact that there is lifetime warranty, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

A big heads up on the Ridgid line warranty- 5X gen only have a 3yr battery warranty now.

The big pull for Ridgid was the life time warranty but that seems to only apply to the tools, not the batteries anymore.

Granted, Ive only seen Ridgid marketing stuff about these tools....for sure THEY wouldnt come right out and say something has changed in regards to warranty

That is incorrect. It clearly states on the box "Lifetime Service Agreement -- FREE Batteries, FREE Parts, & FREE Service --- For Life".

Batteries do NOT have lifetime warranties unless you buying them as part of a kit. (i.e. -- 5-tool kit that I did a preview video on).

I have the whole set.....so far I have released an overview video & full reviews on the impact driver, recip saw, and hammer drill. I have video reviews for the LED light & circular saw coming out in the next week or so.....I am waiting on the snow to melt, so I can set up the sawhorses to do runtime testing (2x4s & OSB).

You are correct! 90 days is the timeframe that they allow you to register for the lifetime service agreement.

No......batteries that are part of kits ARE covered.
