Link Deal is online too.

Normally was $199 and was marked down to $99. Opened the box up for a second and it looked like a very clear picture on the little 2.4" screen.

Its definitely not some amazing one with a super long cord or 5" screen but my first impression is that it is very sturdy and capable and will work for me.

The controls are simple, power, flip image (I wish it could flip it all 4 ways but it just goes up/down, and you can control the brightness of the LED's. It seems very nice.

I actually saw that cam a few days ago when I picked up a saw. I remember thinking that the cheapest ridgid cam was $199 before.

I dont NEED it either. It will make many tasks much easier to do with planning to run ethernet and speaker wire in the coming weeks as well as inspecting back sides of engines or inside of engines/pipes/walls.

Looks cool, but with a 17mm camera head, doesn't seem that you could use it through spark plug holes :/

Anyone know if you could insert this into O2 sensor holes to inspect catalytic converters? Or is the head going to be to big?

That could very well be true. It seems pretty small but you proabaly couldn't twist it around to look up at the valves...
The cool thing about it though is that one of the controls change the brightness of the LEDs built into the head so it is nice.

Also it comes with a hook, magnet, and mirror attachment that attach beyond the camera to hook, grab metal, or look around things.

You want a 9mm camera. This one isn't terrible, but it's $59-65 at the Walmart. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Whistler-9mm-Inspection-Camera/29155347

I have it, I've used it a few times. It's at least as good as the old Snap-On they had at the last place I worked. That's not saying much, Snap-On cameras are junk, but the image quality is okay on the Whistler and you can rotate it all the way around with screen buttons.

if you only need it once or twice you can get a USB camera on ebay for around $20 and use it with your laptop. I have not had first hand experience, but was told that for the price, the picture and capabilities are pretty good.

I've got what is likely the Milwaukee equivalent (yes, yes TTI, we all know) but it has an SD card for snapping stills. That feature is surprisingly handy and I'd recommend it to anyone shopping for inspection cameras. I don't see mention in the specs of this Ridgid having that capability. Food for thought.

Website doesn't say 99.00 is a sale price. Is it?

It used to be $199, Maybe the price just got dropped to $99. Either way I am happy with it for checking my walls for pulling wires.
