This week i bought the ridgid MS-UV for the miter saw i bought two weeks ago. I chose this model because:
1. I wanted big wheels for going up and down stairs
2. I wanted to be able to store the saw on the stand, sideways.

The design of the stand is pretty good i think, but fit and finish makes me cringe. The welds look like they were done be either a blind man or somebody with no arms. Even i can make nicer welds, and I don't know my *** from my elbow when it comes to welding.

What do you think I should do? Take it back? Complain to ridgid? It works OK and the sloppy welds only appear to be cosmetic, but they are REALLY awful

I think you've answered your own question. If you're truly happy with it, keep it. But your comments has more negative issues than positive so I would take it back and look for something else. After using it for a while and then take it back would be a problem since it's been used now and returns might be a problem.

Load it up and Take it back! But before you take it back into the store. check out the display unit and see what the welds look like on it and compare them. You may have just gotten a bad unit. I have the exact same stand. I bought it over 3 years ago and I love it. I've pulled it over rough terrain and have had no problems. Good luck! Terry
