Was dark green ever a factory color for Ridgid pipe wrenches?

There's a wrench for sale locally that is green.
Wasn't interested because the handle was a bit munged up, and it was green.

But found other wrenches on ebay with what looks like the same shade of green.

eBay wrench was made in 1943 and probably was painted black originally. Most original paint on wartime wrenches was black, at least on the wrenches I’ve seen with some original paint remaining.IMG_5006.jpeg

As Don rightly stated, the eBay wrench has a 1943 date code. If you want to learn how to date Ridgid pipe wrenches, check out the 'Ridgid dating' thread. It can easily be found in the A-Z Index in the Sticky. As for the green paint, it could be military. It is a wartime wrench, and I have wartime tools and equipment and boxes with all kinds of shades of green, including dark, true, or forest green. It wasn't all OD, and even when it was, those were different shades, too. Then again, it could be something a PO put on many years later.
