Ridgid pliers- anyone have these or remember them?

Have these 2 in my plumbing toolbox a slip joint and an arc joint. Was wondering who made them if not made by Ridgid, and did they make other plier types such as needle nose and diagonal cutters? Perhaps linesman’s?

Not sure who made them but I have a few left from a set I picked up years ago. I do have a set of diagonals & linesman... Those & the slip joint are the only ones that haven't worn out or disappeared yet. At one point I had 6" needle nose cutters.

Currently they occupy my live audio box where they're most likely to be borrowed & disappear. Nice pliers but not amazing. Have certainly held up to a lot of use though.

it's funny, i just realized for the first time that ridgid tools is not spelled 'rigid'. i assumed you made a typo.

i just looked it up. seems like it's because of North Ridgeville, Ohio / Ridge Tool Company.

A few years back Epstein's had some Ridgid closeout stuff which included some pliers, They were Wilde OEM, IIRC.

Yeah...those slip joints look exactly like a pair of Western Forge produced Craftsmans I had, except for the rubber grips. The Craftsmans were just black, no red.

I remember seeing a pair of slip joint pliers in my Father's toolbox 50 years ago or so. They were made by Channel Lock, and I always thought they were the original manufacturer of that type of plier. I probably have that pair of pliers in one of my tool boxes/bags.

As others have mentioned, Western Forge made those, same as Craftsman but with different handle grips. I've used my Craftsman version for years and they have worked well. I think I have about 8-10 different styles.
