RIDGID vs RYDGID

As I stated in an earlier post, my older bro and I have total access to what remains of a junkyard. We have been slowly going through it and removing old electric motors and tools, vises, etc. I recently found a 6" RYDGID adjustable wrench.(the Y was half the size of the other letters). Made in USA. Are/were RIDGID and RYDGID actually the same company. Sorry, no photo.

Before Ridgid was RIDGID , the were known as " The Ridge". Never heard of a Rydgid

After a much closer look, the small Y is actually the remnants of a rusted and pitted partially missing top half of the I. (it appears as a small Y). It is a Ridgid.
