Hey, do you guys have any idea where to get some new brushes for this vacuum? I can’t find a part number any where for them. These are pretty chewed up.

Rigid WD14500, the armature doesn’t look too messed up, it’s smooth at least

hot spots/burned looking or blue on the commutator ?
there was just another thread going on about brushes, it was suggested to google them, also if you can;t find the correct ones, get similar larger brushes & file them to fit .

That might be what I have to do. I’m going to try to grind these down and work tomorrow, and try to come up with a way to clean the com.

I mean it did run and stop and the brush was all crumbled so it had bad contact with the com. Worse case I clean up brushes and give the com a quick clean and I’m not out any thing. New brushes would be nice but Iill try this for now

I keep a supply of large brushes in my box. Just file them down to whatever size is needed. It takes seconds to resize them.

You wouldn't believe how many hard hours I have on the same model...I have to ask one question...Do you run a bag? I love preaching about shop vacs and bags. LOL

Bit of an update, I was able to file some brushes. The issue then became that the brush holders were too damaged to hold a brush securely. At least I learned that I can file brushes down to size.

I'd go buy the same model and have spare parts from the old...Though they have changed the design a bit.

And buy some bags at the same time...So the brushes don't burn up again. haha

You can go to there website send them the pictures of the vacuum and they will send you a new one if they don’t see any customer abuse.
