everyone is retarded on ebay with their shipping. I was going to buy a set of piston rings on there for 90 bucks, guy wanted 200 shipping. Uhhh they weigh MAYBE 1lb. Ebay really should do something about people and their ridiculous shipping prices.

I have never had anything happen when i reported something, no matter how blatant it was. I gave up reporting things. ***** because I have seen people getting ripped off by shady sellers but could not let them know.

I don't buy much on eBay anymore. It used to be one of favorite sites. I don't know how the shipping calculators work but I often see a tool I want but the shipping price listed is ridiculous.

A 1/2" wrench costs $30 to ship to Canada ? Really? :wtf:

I used to email sellers and ask them to verify the cost. Too often they would come back with "whatever is shown on the shipping calculator, is what I charge". I don't bother to ask anymore. If the listed shipping cost is stupid, the seller doesn't my money.

Since I found GJ I have probably made 15 - 20 purchases. All very smooth transactions with fair shipping costs.

Not many things should be more than the flat rate boxes, that is what I base what shipping should be.

It's pretty regular on eBay for people to want ~$45 to ship to the UK, usually on small things like a single screwdriver or a socket. It's a joke. I have paid something like $20 for things to be shipped before, and the postage label listed the cost at ~$8. And no, the crappy padded envelope didn't cost $12.

There was a guy selling SO sockets for 99c and shipping was quite a bit. I asked him about it and he said he only has to pay e-bay fees on the cost of the item, not the shipping fees. So may be a reason why shipping fees may be higher.

Yea, the USPS flat rate boxes ship internationally for like twice the US price but they also list a weight requirement for international shipping. Another problem is that they do not have tracking for that price. If you want tracking for international shipping it will double the cost.

I don't mind it personally but one of the hassels is the extra time. My local post office has a drop box for pre-paid domestic packages but when I ship to canada I have to wait in line for 30 minutes to sign the forms in front of the person and give him the package. Maybe some of these charges are reflective of the extra time as well?

I've bought a bunch of stuff from this seller. No problems, and quick cheap shipping (Who else is doing flat rate for 6.95? come on....)

I occasionally sell on ebay and also refuse to deal with international buyers, after several bad experiences. Half the time they are just scammers who want to pay by "cashiers cheque", then you have to fight with Ebay to cancel the transaction, refund your fees, relist the item, and wait for a new buyer.

Then you have the jackasses who insist that I mark the item as a "gift" on the export form. Yeah buddy, I'm gonna perjure myself for you. Then they leave a negative feedback for "excessive shipping" when they have to pay extra import duty. I have no control over what your government charges you to import goods, DA.

Plus as Yoda mentions, I ship from a post office center that is totally automated. If I need window service, I have to go out of my way to a different PO. F shipping internationally, there are plenty of buyers in the 50.

You can ship to Canada up to 4 pounds first class for $16.77, but it does not have tracking available, which pretty much kills the deal.

I pretty much don't advertise international selling and discriminate as to what countries I will ship to. I'm good with the UK, the Aussies, Kiwi's, and most of the upper half of Europe, otherwise, I steer clear.

The number one problem Ive had abroad, and this does not include Canada, it takes forever for Priority to get delivered. In the meantime, the buyer is asking me where their package is, like I got a spy camera complete with GPS tracking focused on it and I can give them an image complete with latitude and longitude as to its where abouts! How the hell am I supposed to know ?? Sure, at some point you might have to ask, I forward the tracking number the day it ships, I post it to their "won", but they still ask!

Anyhow, Ive found that certain cultures (you can call them countries, or races, I don't care) do have a clue, and to some extent understand how things work. Its taken better part of a decade to figure this out, and I can work with them, otherwise, I don't need the sale.

I have noticed the Canadians like GM parts for some reason. I even had a Chevy dealer email wanting to know how much for every listing on had on ebay at that moment ? It was over 100 random New GM parts listings.

So I go through the BS of standing in line to move more wares up north to Canada, and occasionally to other points, but I prefer not to do it, and thats only because of the Post office makes it that way! Yeah for post office service!

Ebay tries to tell me that I charge too much for shipping on some items when all I charge is the actual shipping costs by using a calculator that is linked directly to UPS or USPS. I actually had people tell me that my shipping costs, exactly qwhat it costs me,were unreasonable. Never mind the fact that I don`t charge them for packing materials.

Then,I get charged $15.00 shipping on something that only cost $8.00 to ship, and Ebay,PayPal,and the seller tell me that I`m SOL.

Case in point? I've asked shipping costs for two sets of wrenches- one a set of five, one a single one.

Five wrenches? $13. Sweet :)

One? $94 WTF? Asking for cheaper options...
