Found this on Slickdeals, thought some of you might be interested.
Does anyone have any experience with these tools or any Rigid tools for that matter? How easy is the "lifetime warranty" with bringing tools/batteries back?
Just bought one at HD. Very nice. PS... you have to register for the warranty. It's kind of a PITA, but I sent my stuff in anyway.

Resurrecting this as I am in need of a new drill and this seems like a good package. Are you still happy with this kit? The local store still has a set on clearance for $400. Is the Li-ion battery as good as "they" say? Thanx for your experience.

Yup... I still love my 24v Li kit. I'd buy it again if I thought I could get away with it. And I registered my tools and my warranty confirmations already came through.

Uuughhhh! I just saw this thread for the first time and want this combo, but it's no longer available!

What a mean thing to do to a tool junkie. Shame on you for teasing me by ressurecting this thread.

WOOOHOOO!!!

Saw this thread for the first time yesterday, and figured I missed out. On a whim, I went to my closest Home Depot (about 30 miles away) and low and behold, they had one left!!
I started pimping the tool dude about getting a discount if I brought in an add from lowes that showed 20% off all combo kits, then asked about getting 10% discount using a discount code that was mentioned in a link in this thread. He said all I could do is take it to the customer service desk, and pay for it, have it put on hold for me, then bring back the add (which I don't have becuase I was bluffing hoping for any kind of a sympathy discount) and they would honor it at that time if everything was kosher...so I told the lady at the the desk that I have to do it this way because that's what the guy said, and she looked confused...then she asked me how much the add discount would be, so I just said 30% to keep it simple, and she just gave me the full 30% right then and there!!! I guess I just looked like I needed the help or something, but she said it would be a lot less work for her than to go to all the trouble.

If you want this set, take a chance and see if there are any left...HD website said it was over Feb. 28th, but I still got it, with the BS discount, for under $300!!

And though I have not used them yet, they do seem like very fine tools. They are also dual voltage, so the 24v lithiums or 18v nicad, or lithiums will work with these tools as well. They don't have replacement batteries in stock yet, but the tool guy confirmed that the lifetime warranty includes the batteries...so if one craps out, just bring it in, and they will give you a new one. If the problem can be solved for under $100.00 they take care of things right at the store. If there is a bigger problem with the tool, they send it in too a place in Minnesota (at least for my region of the country) to have it fixed, and the turnaround is less than 10 days.

This whole deal cannot be beat, even if you pay the full sale price of $395.00. I wish my dewalts had free battery replacement.
