Anyone own one of these?

A guy on the island is offering up an almost new example for only $200. I don't really have the room for it... but certainly have a use if it's any good.

i have no clue what any old thing is worth. I only know what it is worth to me. Condition matters on old tools. I have a similar saw I will be offering for sale soon. It is in very good condition. I am going ask $350.

That ask doesn't set anything. It is just one more piece of information to help you figure out price.

Good luck.

It is one of the table saw I was consider getting when I was shopping for a table saw, but end up gotten the Craftsman TJZ10/3 (same as the 4512 older model of the 4520) for $500.. $200 that is good price IMO.

I think there were few complains about this saw is the fencing is not as good as the Delta 36-725T2 one.... but it doesn't have motor issues like the Delta.

There was some alignment issues in to the 1/32 or 1/16 on some unit that was sold at least the complain was...maybe due to dropping or handling at the blade / motor / trunion what ever that is call, between the front and back of the blade... It is a very heavy saw. I think stumpy nub have a good video on alignment. there was another guy on youtube shows Shimming it back correctly, if you search Ridgid R4520 or Ridgid R4512

Just keep in mind this is a very heavy saw.... you needed some one to help you load and unload to your truck (pickup would work)... it won't fit into SUV assembled.

$200 is good deal. Not sure whats wrong with it.

i had one for a few years. For occasional use ripping ply it would be ok. I pretty much quit using it once I got my festool track saw, and it was really gutless compared to the cabinet saw I eventually upgraded to. Truth be told aside from ripping very narrow stock there is nothing it can do that a good track saw can’t do better and more accurately while taking up a hell of a lot less space.

I bought one about 10 years ago. I use it commercially, but not daily. When I use it, I use it a lot. It has performed well. The fence is reasonably good. Maybe on a piece that needs to be super accurate I might check the front and back of the blade, but for most things the gauge is accurate enough. I paid $650ish brand new, and it was worth every penny, so what you are paying would be a slam dunk.

I have it's ancient predecessor, the 2424LS. I've used it as a contractor saw and it does very well. I can't answer to how it is doing fine woodworking, but plenty of people do use it for that. I would not sell mine for $200, it makes you wonder if it got tipped over and something bent to be that cheap.

The guy claims to be moving off the island... If his neighbor doesn't take it, I'm next in line... he's gonna let me know by tomorrow morning.

As for condition, it's a little rusty... but nothing I can't clean up. I did a test cut and it was nice and 90.

I too have the previous generation of that saw. I got it on clearance as a floor model, with the mobile base. As far as accuracy, the fence system has worked well for me & proved to be pretty rugged. I tell people all the time " I'm a carpenter, not a cabinetmaker" but truthfully, I've built cabinets & nicer bookcases with it & its worked well for me. BTW, the mobile base is a big plus in a shop environment

Bummer. That price was a steal (neighbor will probably clean the rust and flip it after he leaves).

I never knew tool flipping was a thing until the GJ.
As the GJ has warped me into a tool cynic, I'll need an all expenses paid vacation to Hawaii from the owner to return me to more innocent times. :sneaky:
