A friend of mine has a Ridgid table saw that is several years old . He recently had the misfortune of something falling over and breaking the lock handle on the fence. OF COURSE it has been discontinued and no help whatsoever from Rigid . Model number of the saw is TS 3650.

My question is twofold. Do these saw cross with other "generic" Chinese saws that might have his part available under another number?

What might be involved in having the part 3D printed? He has it glued for the present but it does not appear to be very sturdy. A 3d printer person might be able to make a cottage of these "conveniently obsolete" plastic parts. I confess ignorance about this stuff.
