I need some kind of doorbell for my new house and studio. Naturally, have a front door .. but, the design of the property will have most people we know using a side door off of the driveway that leads to the kitchen.

The house has many levels -- being able to have some video in a few spots would be great .... also need to have an alert in my studio in case someone comes to the house. Can't see the house doors from the studio. I don't really need a doorbell on the studio door -- could just use a typical doorbell should someone be stopping over and know I'm out there.

Having it wired would be great so I don't have to worry about batteries.

I see Legrand Adorne makes a wireless hook up where the door camera can be wired -- three internal units ... but, it looks like only one camera. Having two would be ideal.

I installed a nest camera above my front porch because it basically does everything the ring does, but it records 24/7. Only problem is it requires an annual subscription, but I installed one in front of my garage already and really liked it overall.

Ring pro is wired, smaller, and higher resolution than regular ring, I think.

I have a ring and love it, but I didn't want to spend extra to get it wired--otherwise, I would have gone for the ring pro.

There are doorbells that will connect to two different buttons and rigs different for each of them

No help and I don't mean to derail your thread - but it reminded me of something.
We have a doorbell on our front door but we have a rear facing garage with a door like you - leading into the kitchen. Most people would come to this door - problem is - at the time we had a button for the garage door opener right next to that door that looked just like a door bell button.
Yes - a visitor once closed the garage door on my wife's vehicle that she had unfortunately left hanging partially outside the garage with the sensors mounted low enough to see each other. No real damage done due to the vehicle having a roof rack but I was relieved to finally replace the opener with one that had a switch that didn't look like a door bell.
Carry on.

Ring has stick up cameras that tie into a little solar panel. Been meaning to try one.

We have one at the fire station. The back door is tone is a ding-dong while the stairway tone is different. It was fairly cheap and found at the local hardware store, nothing special.

My neighbor bought one and loved it, until it started to get cold up here in Michigan. From what he told me is that their website states that they aren’t suitable for extreme cold temps. Just something to keep in mind.....

I currently have phone systems w/ door speakers (no video). Same tone for every door -- but, I can pick up any phone and ask. I can also open the garage door from the phone. 1/2 the time it's the mail or UPS ... Work from my homes most of the time now .. so not having to answer the door is great.

While I'm going to need a small office in this house and two (2) land lines, trying to avoid doing a full phone system. Maybe I should run the wires and see what happens.

The phone system is a great intercom -- could run an extension out to the studio. I tried one of those 6 cordless phone setups last year at a vacation rental place --- it worked out better than expected but it's not going to have the range for my studio in this place and it had no doorbell.

I'm waiting for the Nest to release their doorbell camera, Hello, early next year. I have the thermostat & smoke detectors. They are expensive but very user friendly. The external camera's are also on my list.

Ring has nice stuff and good quality

I've worked some cases and they have been invaluable for evidence

+1000 PBX here. Prolly a panasonics KXT/KXTD system, Id guess?

I like having a wired system, doubles as intercom, phone rings you can answer any line from any phone- put it on hold, track people down... hit 'page all', say 'call for you' ...and you see the line get picked up. Two extensions in the Barn/Shop 300+ feet away.

Having said this, I am looking for the replacement- integration to ethernet/voip; cellular interface perhaps.... havent found it yet

Exactly -- both places have Panasonic systems. Would have thought some advancement in the past 15 years ... none that I see. At one time we had six land lines -- obviously, with cells I don't need them all. I'm fining the same thing with lighting, automation and music ... it all phone based. Frankly -- I don't need to change the bulbs color -- I also don't want to have my phone with me to adjust my lights.

I have a Ring Doorbell PRO for the front of the house and a Ring floodlight for the side and back of the house. They are both hard wired. You can get a Ring doorbell ringer to plug in anywhere in your house or garage. This will create an alert for you. I also have it alert my phone. You can adjust the sensitivity if you don't want your neighbor's cat setting off the alert. Yes, this will happen.
