Hi all,

Im currently putting together an air system for my home shop, but im trying to future proof it. I live in the Uk currently, and in the next 5 years or so i hope to be emergrating to the US. What i want to know is what your standard fitting threads are there? Im assuming NPT, which is slightly harder to get over here as almost everything we have is bsp or bspt. I know my compressor amd a lot of current air tools are going to be odd, but if i can purchase a filter/reg with npt threads (to ultimately hook up into a plumbed in air system when i move) amd stock up on bspt fittings for my current air tools im hoping to be ok.

Finally, what is the most common form of airline quick coupling over there? Again we use mostly PCL connectors, but the fact that these are only offered in bsp and bspt leads me to belive they arent sold to the American market.

Thanks
Rich

I believe Tom Parker can supply you all airline fittings in NPT. Snap-on's air line fittings are NPT too.

Thanks for the reply. Im not having too much trouble with getting fittings over here, its things like retractable air reels with npt fittings that are difficult. I could just get bspt and get some npt adaptors, but knowing my luck i will emd up chewing a thread and needimg another or something. Are bspt/bspp fittings/adaptors available over there?

Thanks
Rich

Adapters can be found online but typically not locally. Quick couplings are usually labeled Automotive of Universal, I believe.
