I’ve been looking for a ring roller that will work on 1/4 round. I read reviews of the HF ring roller and people complained that dies were not 1/4” and chewed up work. They also said it has plastic parts which crack. I went to HF and sure enough dies are too small for 1/4”. Also looks like plastic on adjust knob asm but the unit was bolted down so hard to see back.
Searching online I see various brands which from pictures look like identical to the HF unit, but of course, typically more expensive. Eg. It looks like Bailiegh has the HF unit at $259 vs the $79 at HF. They also have a $800 unit I’m guessing is good but I don’t want to spend that much for my limited use, occasional needs.
I haven’t found reasonable alternatives for occasional use and was wondering if anyone has found something I missed?
