Like others I have tried many kinds of boots. Always kept going back to Chippewa till I found a new pair of Rocky's at a flea market. Comfortable right out of the box. Chippewa's always took a couple weeks to break in. I always keep 2-3 pairs of boots so I can switch them out. Keep going back and forth between the Chips and Rocky now.

Just a heads-up… If you are considering Red Wing boots and are a little patient you can save big on the retail price. I recently purchased Red Wing’s Iron Ranger boot. I started looking at them in February and they were retailing for $320. I tracked the Amazon price on 3 camels and noticed that the price fluctuated wildly in a short period of time. So I set a price watch and waited. Only took about 2 weeks and I was able to grab the boots for $209!

Good luck!
I never heard of the 3 camels site. But I can see the value. Thanks.

I have had Redwing and Wolverine boots. The Wolverine boots were comfortable from the first time I put them on and lasted 8 years before the leather cracked, I didn't take very good care of them. It took me almost 2 years to break in the Redwings so they were comfortable, 5 years later they are still going strong. For me.. the Wolverine boots are a better value.

the 1000 mile Wolverines?

My employer buys us Irish Setter boots by red wing. I always spring for the toe pour to save the leather toe after the first year of use. The store always oils the leather and adds new laces when they do the toe cap.
I continue to use the older pairs of boots around the house for years.
I wear my boots 6 days a week between work and projects around the house. I'm currently wearing the pair of boots I got two years ago, and saving the pair from last year.
For an imported boot they're still going strong after two years.
Being a mechanic, I'm on my feet all day, those $50 Dr Scholls insoles that you stand on the machine to select are 100% worth it to save your feet.
