I am pleased that you saw fit to honor your now-dead-and-soon-to-be-forgotten angle grinder with something of a eulogy.... that's far more than I would have done for the unit I am currently abusing in every way imaginable.
Say what you will about the "inferior quality" of Harbor Freight tools - their low-end angle grinders accomplish the task without argument, withstanding the worst sort of abuse, all while being neglected, tossed into the beds of trucks in the rain and forgotten, until they are extracted from the tangle and put back into service for that "just one more job to complete" task.
Handy hints for new owners:
Complete removal and disposal of the "guard" or anything related to "safety" will increase service life of tool. It may result in personal injury, trips to the ER, and stitches, but the angle grinder will be just fine.
Oversized abrasive wheels and attachments may well result in shorter service life, but they will accomplish the task at hand in less time.
Your personal safety and physical well being is entirely dependent upon the choices YOU make. Nobody - and I mean NObody - including Harbor Freight - is going to assume responsibility for loss of blood, fingers, or life.

Did you at least keep his lifeline? I’ve got an old grinder that could really use an extension for his! All joking aside, which Horror Fright grinders are the Good, the Bad, and the Fugly?! I need to pick one up to use as a Corded Wheel of Death on some bent up pallet rack that I want to turn into a steel storage rack.
