I have one I purchased from Garret Wade, which they no longer carry, it has proven to be a very useful tool. In my experience I think the tool that has the insert at a 90 degree angle to the handle might fit better in some cases. The one I have allows that setting end to be pivoted which makes it useful in tight spaces. However, the capacity of mine is limited to the 1/4 x 20 size, that might be a limiting factor for you.

I have the harbor freight one I needed it to do 2 1/4 20 SS rivnuts. I would not recommend it unless you plan on using it very limited.

We're the biggest in the world when it comes to rivet nut tools believe it or not.

From manual to air, 8/32 to 1/2" we make everything. The one you linked you can't go wrong with, one of the best out there.

Marson are the only ones I've ever bought. Good quality, work well. Just make sure you pay attention to the instructions, if you set the riv nut too "deep" on the mandrel, you can break a mandrel. I'm sure that's the case with most however, so if you're going to be mainly using one size, get a spare mandrel or two.

It would be nice if there were an online video of using each one, to get a better idea of how they work. Even without that, at this point, I'm planning on getting the Astro tool. There are something like 262 reviews on Amazon, which is a lot. 77% gave it a 5/5, and 18% gave it a 4/5, which seems pretty good.

There isn't much to using one. Screw the correct size mandrel into the tool, screw the riv nut onto the mandrel the specified amount, stick riv nut in appropriately sized hole, squeeze handles, and back the tool off. I have used the Marson tool and the originally linked tool, only difference I noticed was the Astro tool is a little easier to squeeze due to the extra leverage. Only knock I can give the Astro tool is the blow molded case reminds me of harbor freight.

I bought the HF in a pinch. Wish they carried extra inserts. But as mentioned, less than spectacular performance, but it works.

Yeah it works. But their inserts are craptacular. It's also nice for setting molleys in walls.

I've used THESE with good results.

Scroll down half way to the wrench driven ones. I have and use the 1/4-20 and 5/16-18 a few times.
