Rivet nut tool

What’s a good middle of the road rivet nut tool? I don’t see myself using it a whole lot but I’ll need to do a few on a current project. Don’t need a pro grade tool but would like something a bit above harbor freight. ill Likely be using stainless rivet nuts to hold some studs that I’ll be mounting a plate to that will have all the electrical components mounted to it in a street/strip kind of car might use them for anchor points for wire saddles and brake line clamps also

I have the Astros 1442 and 1443b

1442 is great, but doesn't fit everywhere, 1443b does the ones in restricted spaces. Good tools that have set 100s of rivnuts forme with no drama and no spinners

You can set them with just nuts/bolts/washers too, it's only a tiny bit slower, once you get going though it's no biggy.

This is what I did and had zero issues. For the 5 rivnuts I've done in my life, there was absolutely no reason to buy a dedicated tool.

Having done it both ways I can say that using the proper tool is much faster and easier.

Hello everyone,

I know this is an older discussion here, I just wanted to point out that there are other tools for this too.

I needed a tool for setting rivet nuts in very tight spaces in my small vintage camper.
The lever arm solutions that I only knew before didn't work for me.

I now have a "GOEBEL GO-12-N" (there are also similar ratchet solutions from other manufacturers, I was looking for one that had spare parts and other accessories and a wide range also for useable for stainless steel nuts), for M5 to M12 (my photo with M6) and optionally also for smaller M3 & M4 rivet nuts - It only requires a small amount of force, has easy-grip lever arms, ratchet-like, even in a small installation space usable for me less than 90 degrees working angle and only 21cm tool height. It's fun to work with it, I think I'll be getting a lot more rivet nuts soon...

I had previously tried it cheaply with screws, nuts, washers and 2 wrenches - with lousy success.
